The Right-Brained Alphabet, pen and ink, 7 x 15 inches, 1983. This was a project for my beginning drawing class. I studied how I would say each letter, including my tongue and lip positions, and translated that to a shape or form. Vowels are forms, consonants are shapes. See the next drawing for the application of the alphabet.
8:30 pm 11-3-83, pen and ink, 18 x 24 inches, 1983. For the same beginning drawing project, I went around the room asking each classmate what their favorite word is. I then drew the list of words using my Right-Brained Alphabet. You can see that the first word is "blubber".
